Tools you will need DAILY for your van build

A realistic checklist from someone who started a van conversion with just a few screwdrivers!

When I bought my van, I had no prior experience, no background in construction, electrics, or mechanics. What I did have was time, determination, and a need to build something unique to call it a home.

Over 2–3 years, I slowly converted my van while in between working at festivals and studying a full-time Graphic Design course.

I learnt that having the right tools made this van build much easier and quicker. I have created this page to help you succeed quicker and not make the same mistakes I did.

These are the tools I reached for every single day — the ones that actually made the build possible.

A realistic note from experience 🧠

You don’t need to know everything before you start.
I learned by:

  • Making mistakes

  • Fixing them

  • Slowly building confidence

Building a van with no experience taught me one thing: the right tools make your build much quicker and easier.
